Zusammenfassung

Unsere Darmbakterien interagieren kontinuierlich mit unserem Organismus und beeinflussen den Appetit und die Nahrungsverwertung, aber auch immunologische Prozesse und die Durchlässigkeit im Darm. Über die „Darm-Gehirn-Achse“ (Gut-brain axis) werden auch direkte Auswirkungen auf das Gehirn und unser Verhalten, z. B. bei Depressionen, Angst oder dem Lernverhalten, vermittelt. All diese Bereiche sind bei der Anorexia nervosa (AN) betroffen, sodass hier der aktuelle Wissensstand zur Rolle von Darmbakterien bei einer AN zusammengefasst wird und mögliche Implikationen für zukünftige Therapien beleuchtet werden.
