Zur Behandlung affektiver Erkrankungen stehen derzeit eine Reihe unterschiedlicher nicht invasiver Hirnstimulationsverfahren in der klinischen Routine zur Verfügung. Dieser Artikel gibt einen Überblick über die aktuellen Empfehlungen zum Einsatz der gängigsten nicht invasiven Hirnstimulationsverfahren zur Behandlung affektiver Störungen, die spezifischen Vor- und Nachteile sowie Unterschiede hinsichtlich der angenommenen Wirkmechanismen.
