The incidence of bone and soft tissue sarcomas is exceptionally rare, constituting less than 1% of all cancers, and this rate has remained relatively unchanged over the past two to three decades. The WHO classification of bone and soft tissue sarcomas encompasses over 100 histological subtypes, complicating diagnosis, and treatment. Unfortunately, many patients are diagnosed at advanced stages due to late presentation and financial constraints. Furthermore, exposure to musculoskeletal oncology during orthopedic or surgical oncology residencies is limited. In India, only a handful of cancer centers specialize in treating bone and soft tissue sarcomas, and even fewer offer comprehensive training programs in musculoskeletal oncology. Effectively managing these tumors necessitates a multidisciplinary approach involving not only musculoskeletal oncologists but also medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, nuclear medicine specialists, vascular surgeons, plastic surgeons, thoracic surgeons, pain physicians, psychooncologists, and physiotherapists. …
